Camp. On the eve of my big move to the big city, I took a little time with my family to celebrate the end of one chapter of my life and the beginning of the next, in the one place in the world that, for me, never seems to change. The exact opposite of the bustle and energy of NYC, camp offers days filled with lounging in weather-worn Adirondack chairs and the absolute joy of going barefoot on the deck, in the grass, on the dock, everywhere really. Honestly I never really know where my shoes end up when we get there because I'm so quick to kick them off when we drive up to the door. Sometimes they don't even make it out of the car...
Here are a few of my favorites from my last weekend of peace in the North Country before everything starts down in the city.
Here are a few of my favorites from my last weekend of peace in the North Country before everything starts down in the city.
{breakfast at the sole diner in town}
{testing out the panorama function on my new iPhone}
{sunset on Fern...and the last remnants of our 4th of July blowout}
{the setting sun dancing on the front of the camp}
{more sunset, and Whiteface on the far left}
{not a bad way to take it all in...}
{a flashback to my time there as a kid, coloring at the bar with my cousins for hours}
{bonfire and a champagne buzz}
{late summer beauties}
{good 'ol fashion North Country eats}
{a fuzzy but gorgeous shot of the camp all lit up}
{and a crackling fire to usher in our last night}
