People say karma's a bitch. Honestly, I think it should be luck is a bitch. Its so sneaky and sly and lulls you into a false sense of security sometimes. Or you think everything is great, and then you see the effects it has on others and suddenly everything you've ever believed about it is put to the test. (on another note...i wonder what irony has to do with luck and karma? wow getting too philosophical)
For example....the other day I placed my 70 cents into the vending machine to retrieve a pack of breathsavers. Much to my triumph, two little round packs dropped from the B2 slot for me to snatch up. As i strutted back to my desk triumphantly, I got a frantic text from my boyfriend, who had just discovered that his $350 unlimited, irreplacable, commuter pass was missing. Lost, completely. This was not his first blow of the day, as it appeared that the postal service had lost a package containing a rental book that was to be returned to the company, and he was now on the hook for $150 unless he could track down the missing package.
