One of my resolutions this year is to de-clutter and simplify my space. I am an absolute pack-rat, and can find sentimental value in almost everything I own. Besides that, I live in constant fear of throwing something away that I may need "one day," so I end up tucking (or shoving) things away into corners and boxes and drawers for "just in case."
One thing in particular that I have never been able to throw away are the extra buttons, beads, clasps, and sequins that come with the various blouses and dresses I have accumulated over the years. Until now, the norm was a few tucked in my sock drawer, a handful in my makeup case, and one or two tucked away in forgotten zipper pockets in almost every bag I own. As I attempt to streamline the various aspects of my life in preparation for a move out to the west coast come graduation, I decided I needed to find a solution for this particular problem, regardless of how small.

So I gathered up all the little ziplock baggies, bought some clear protective sheets built for displaying baseball cards and a simple, thin 3-ring binder, and put all the pieces together. Hopefully when the organizational mood strikes me next I'll set about the tedious task of photographing my various garments and including the pictures along with the tags and buttons and clasps...but we'll see. For now, I take pride in accomplishing this one small task, and rejoice in the crisp white binder that now sits in all of its organized glory on the top shelf of my closet.
